Belgian Abby Malt (Castle Malting) milled in mazer coffee grinder (very messy) and then flour sifted out.
Coriander and Orange stepped at ~190F
"Steeping grains" mashed in separate pot and then sparged in main brew pot.
Starter created from ~1L of wort (without the Candi Syrup) using half the starter from prior night after quick cold crash. The other half of the starter will be used during bottling. Stirrer plate used. |

Notes: This is my first iteration of my journey to try and tackle the Northeast IPA style. This style typically has bombastic fruit and citrus flavors with an appearance that is extremely cloudy and has soft mouthfeel. This is because of the massive dry hop additions, low flocculation of the yeast and the wheat additions. The water is usually CaCl rich to add to the softness. Some of the best IPAs like Heady Topper, Trillium and Mad Hatter are of this style. |

The Riverfish Team has just learned that incorrect use of the pitching calculator has lead to heavy over pitching. Essentially, cell counts in a pack of dry yeast was grossly under estimated. However, this batch used Imperial liquid packs. |
