| Notes: I had the Vanilla porter from Mill St. in Toronto, ON and loved it. This was a recipe I found to try and produce the same beer. Compared to the Mill St. version I thought this one was a bit hoppy and not quite enough vanilla. However the beer was fantastic even for my non-dark beer drinking friends. I will definitely try this recipe again! |

Notes: The IBU is too much highe because I use hop-bags wich let the hop be 15% less bitter and because of the extract tend to cover the bitterness.
The real IBU is around 37 witch mathces the style.
They say i'm over the ranges of style but i'm based on Ray Daniel's book

Notes: 3 "C's" CASCADE - CENTENNIAL - COLUMBUS is my attempt to clean out my fridge and make a batch of beer. I have the hops, and the yeast. Both of these are old, so better late than never using them. I have most of the fermentables, and just need to put them to good use. I have an empty fermentor right now.

Notes: Vanilla extract is "Brewer's Best Natural Vanilla Type Flavoring Extract 4 oz"
Personally I think 4 oz is a little too much. I prefer just a little vanilla flavoring as an after taste. 1-2 oz would probably accomplish this. 4 oz you can really taste the vanilla, which is still good but almost like a cream soda at that point. |
