Notes: This was a 10 gallon Spartan IPA recipe at 6.25%. I changed to 15 gallons without changing anything else. Now it's 4.25%, This also raised the IBUs from 12.25 to 15.6 that doesn't make sense to me.
Also used Cablecar yeast to make it a lager. |

| Notes: This is an awesome recipe. I borrowed it from Jim Barrie of Gainesville FL. via the AHA website called PreNup Pale Ale. I made minimal modifications, but a great hoppy pale ale. I did brew it so that its final ABV is closer to 8% not 6%. Which makes it even better. Cheers |

Notes: *Batch #12A-4.
*American Amber(Red)Ale with a sharp bite of hops.
* American 2-row pale ale malt, American Crystal 60L, Victory malt and Carapils malt rounds out the grain bill. Mash temperatures in the range of 152°F to 156°F create a wort with a nice balance of fermentable and non-fermentable sugars. *Magnum hops adds a balanced bitterness, Willamette hops adds a unique floral aroma, and homegrown Cascade hops adds distinctive grapefruit flavor.
*Yeast: White Labs WLP001(California Ale) Purepitch Lot #1023577 Manuf. Feb. 14, 2016 QC cell count: 2.98e9/ml slurry.
* Apocalypse of Saint John is the 4th of 12 brews in the Twelve Apostles beer line. Each of the 12 brews are an American Amber Ale. Experimentation with water profile, temperature variations including mash temp., grain bill, ambient temp., hops varieties and yeast strains provide endless opportunity to learn about and improve this beer over the year.
* Homegrown Cascade hops Alpha Acid has been age adjusted in this recipe since details of storage and pick date are a known variable.
* Bitterness to starting gravity ratio (IBU [30.45] divided by OG [56]) = [.54]. (0.5 to 0.7 for a balanced amber)
* Actual Final Gravity (w/h calibrated precision hydrometer). 1.010. Actual ABV = 6.04
*All test equipment calibrated prior to use.
