Placed in an oven at 170F (shut off) for 60min mash
When pulled the mash temp was 160F
Post Mash OG 1.046
Boiled for 30 min with Hops above chilled down
Baked grist, spread thinly on a baking sheet, at 375F for 3 hours.
Recombined grist with wort at ~ 150F to pull off other sugars.

Notes: Heat strike water to 166 (it should drop to 154 when grain is added)
Add strike water to bagged mash tun-stir in grains for 5 mins
Screw on lid and let sit for 1 hour.
Heat sparge water to 170
Using pulley, pull grain bag from mash tun to drain-squeeze bag w/ gloves
lower bag into sparge bucket-stir for 5 mins, then let soak for 30 mins. Repeat pulley process.
Add first and second runnings to kettle-heat to boiling. Make note of pre-boil water level.
Add hops according to schedule. When boil is complete, make note of post-boil water level. |
