Ingredients:
2.5 Gallons Tap Water
4 Gallons Bottled Water – Note: even though this is a 5 gallon recipe, you will need extra because of the fluid loss during the boil process
1lb American Two Row
1lb Carahell
.5lb Cara Pils/Dextrine
3lbs Dry Malt Plain Amber Extract
3lbs Dry Malt Plain Light Extract
3oz Northern Brewer hops
2oz Simcoe hops
1oz Centennial Hops
1 Pack Nottingham Dry Ale Yeast

Procedure:
Start with 2.5 gal tap water, heat to 165 degrees and steep grains for 20 minutes
Remove grains and bring wort to boil
Remove pot from heat, add 3lbs Dry Malt Plain Light Extract, 3lbs Dry Malt Plain Amber Extract and return wort to boil
Add 2oz Northern Brewer hops and boil for 60 minutes
Add 1oz Simcoe hops and boil for 45 minutes
Add 1oz Simcoe hops and boil for 30 minutes
Add 1oz Northern Brewer hops and boil for 10 minutes
Add bottled water to bring the specific gravity to 1.059 and cool work to 70 degrees
Add Nottingham Ale Yeast

Fermentation:
Primary – 2 weeks at 60-68 degrees
Secondary – 4 weeks at 60-68 degrees
Add 1oz Centennial hops to secondary fermenter 5 – 7 days before bottling day
Bottle beer 5 - 7 days after dry hop addition

Bottling:
6 weeks after brew date
Use .2oz of corn sugar per gallon of beer
Condition beer for 4 weeks at room temperature

Notes: This is a relatively simple blond ale recipe very similar to a Slovenian blond, but with one small twist: use chips from broken bat, along with some standard maple chips. The chips, and/or tea made from them, should be added after primary fermentation has ended. Rinse wood chips to remove excess debris, then place in microwave-safe container, add water to cover the chips, then add lemon juice and zest and boil to sanitize. Allow this to sit for 10-15 to create a tea, then add entire mix to fermenter.

Notes: The clone attempt came out great, great balance of hop and malt. I took the listed ingredients on the bottle, and made an IPA out of those parts. I most likely didn't get their hop schedule correct, due to the huge difference in hop profile. Next attempt may include dry hopping rather than just using in boil or @ flame out.

Comparing to Black Raven's version: I received comments saying they preferred mine over the real Tricksters, giving attributes of a less bitter profile, less harsh and more crisp.

Notes: 1. In 2-3 litres of water, boil goldings, crushed coriander seeds, cumin and dried orange/mandarine rind.

2. At the 5 minute mark, add the malt.

3. At the 10 minute mark, add the Fuggles hops.

4. At the 15 minute mark, remove from heat and let stand for 15 minutes.

5. Blend oats with water and strain. Simmer for a few minutes to sterilise and add to the fermenter.

6. Top up fermenter with cold water

7. Take your SG reading.

8. Add the yeast. Ideal pitch temp is 18-22 degrees
