I think I saw the same pattern last batch. High mash-out gravity but "normal" post boil gravity * Boil complete with 4.5gal at 1.054 (right at 73% brehouse efficiency. Something is wrong with how gravity readings at mash-out are informing brewhouse efficiency) * Pitched additional yeast packet (hydrated) 2/20 due to lack of visible activity (not sure if this was necessary) * More activity later in the day observed * Gravity check 1/25 1.016 * Gravity check 1/30 1.015 * Kegged Next time * try to configure PID for tighter temp range, maybe lower heater duty cycle to limit overshooting? * set mash-out to 170 to get to 165 faster * Should not have pulled 1/2gal out vs prior brewday. Note Volume in and volume out here (7gal -> 4.5gal). Add 1gal?
