Our Whirlpool Method
Add Whirlfloc & yeast nutrient @10 mins left on boil.
Add 0 min hop addition.
cut flame/ heat and whirlpool with hops in kettle. Wait 10 minutes.
Take out Hops and wait another 10 minutes.
Cold Crash after this rest period.
Transfer to fermenter and pitch yeast. Add 1 tablespoon Biofine. Ferment in Primary until fermentation complete. Transfer to Secondary for up to 5 days. Bottle with dextrose for 2.2 volumes. |

Notes: DIRECTIONS
Mash at 154° using a ratio of 1.4 quarts water per pound.
Rest mash for 60 minutes.
Verify starch conversion with a wort sample and iodine.
Add first wort hops to the kettle, before first runnings.
Vorloff slowly until wort is clear and then drain first running to kettle.
Mash out with remaining water volume at 170°, stir and hold for 15 minutes, vorloff slowly until clear and drain wort to kettle.
Heat wort to boil and boil for 70 minutes.
After 50 minutes (20 minutes remaining), add first hop addition.
After 60 minutes (10 minutes remaining), add yeast nutrient.
After 65 minutes (5 minutes remaining), add second hop addition.
After 70 minutes, flame out and add last hop addition.
Cool the wort quickly after the last hop addition to retain as much hop aroma as possible.
Cool wort as low as possible and aerate and
Carbonate to no more than 2 volumes and condition for fourteen days and serve at 45° to 55°

Collect 20 l to start boil whilst keep collecting into pot another 5 l and add to near boil.
Bottled 1.2.19
Boil start 12.45 boiling at 13.10
15 gm Citra pellets added at near start of boil
End Boil at 1500 add 45 gm Mosaic 35gm Citra steep until 15.30
Chill Start 1530 - 27 C at 16.30 and 25 C at 16.45
Start run off into fermenter at 1655 - 1800
Yeast sprinkled into starter wort at 1655
Yeast starter pitched at 1800 at 25 c - starter going well
