| Notes: Scaled up version of my "Hoppy IPA" recipe. Split wort into 2 corny kegs and fermented under pressure with their own spunding valves. Pressure ranged from 10-20 psi, temp ranged from 68-76F. Cold crashed on day 6 and pressure transferred (5 gals) to serving keg on day 8 (same day as photo). Aroma and tastes are hoppy, enjoyable bitterness, with slight citrus and floral notes. |

Notes: To brew Green Flash West Coast IPA, the water profile should be similar to Burton-Upon-Trent’s, but with roughly half the mineral content. Mash grains at 152°F (67°C) for one hour. Mash out at 165°F (74°C) for 10 minutes. Steep flameout hop for 10 minutes before chilling.
Pitch yeast to cooled wort at 68°F (20°C) and allow temperature to rise naturally to 70-72°F (21-22°C).
When fermentation is complete, dry hop in primary fermenter for seven days. Drink it fresh for maximum late hop character.
Water treated with brewing salts target: Ca=110, Mg=18, Na=16, Cl=50, SO4=275

Notes: 1. Add 4 gallons distilled water to brew pot.
2. Bring water to 156 and add oats and corn
3. Steep for 15mins then rinse with cold water to achieve 7gals
4. Add 7 lb sorghum extract and candy syrup.
5. Bring to a boil. Stir to prevent scorching.
6. Place bitter hops in large tea ball (don’t compress). Add to brew pot when mix boils. Boil for 45 minutes.
4. At 40mins add Mt Hood hops.
5. At flame out add honey and aromatics.
6. After chilling wort to 75 pour into primary fermentor and let sit for 2 weeks at 64-70.
7. Strain and rack into secondary fermentor and let claify for a week.
8. Bottle.
