Notes: Brewed via BIAB method on 1/16/2022 with Connor Cox in Stillwater, OK.
Used ~9.25 gallons of strike water at 159 F to yield a mash temp = 152 degrees F. Mashed for 60 minutes minimum.
Starting volume = 7.5 gallons
SG = 12.3 brix = 1.050 g/L
OG = 14.60 = 1.060 g/L via hydrometer
Used two sachets of S-04 (23 grams). One was really old so i used two.
FG = 8.5 Brix = 1.019 g/L
Hydrometer read 1.018 g/L after correction. |

Notes: Trying a new Mash and fermentation profile for this guy.
Re hydrated the yeast and put in some yeast nutrient. Used 50F water for the re hydrate then pitched after a 35s Oxygen burst in wort.
No visible fermentation signs till about 48 hours or a little after though its hard to tell because you cant see through the Speidel. |

Garafa III grined finer than rest
Firstwort hopping (removed 0.5L before boil for yeast dehydration. Removing during boil means removing some hops. Wort was boiled separately).
Preboil: 21.5l 12ºP
Beer apears almost black. Darker than #1. More than expected
Underpitched with dry yeast: 0.45M/ml/P (1 package, 11g)
Postboil: 18.5lit. 13ºP
Final volume in fermenter 16L
Final gravity 2.2-2.3P -> ABV 5.7%

My review:
This beer is the shit. I am not sure if it is perle hops or the sweet love of the vienna or the victoy malt I love the most. It is so drinkable and very unique for a pale ale. I would make this 100 more times because it is that good.

Version 2 Changes:
All different hops.
Look for Hurleys Pale Ale I for OG. Grain bill the same. Do in tandem to get 2 batches different hop taste.
