Värm upp 12 liter vatten till 78 grader. Under tiden detta värms upp så häll lite varmvatten från kranen i kylväskan så den inte är kall.
Häll ur vattnet från kylväskan. Blanda det varma vattnet med malten i kylväskan och uppnå 68 grader. Spara någon liter så att man kan korrigera värmen.
När temperaturen är nådd sätt över locket och låt den stå i 60 minuter.
Värm upp ca 18-20 liter lakvatten till 70 grader under tiden mäsken vilar.
Sila nu ut ca 1 liter i en behållare och häll det över maltbädden, gör detta ett par gånger tills att vörten ser klarare ut, så att det inte är skal och annat bös i vätskan.
När du har recirkulerat ett par gånger, så häll på det uppvärmda vattnet från kastrullen, cirka 1-2 liter åt gången. Se till att toppen av maltbädden aldrig blir torr. Samla upp 27 liter vört i den 3:e jäshinken.
6.Koka upp vörten, när det börjat koka starta timern och slå i första humle givan 22,5g Amarillo. När man slår i humlen så finns det risk för att det kokar över, att ha en sked till hands för att röra om på toppen är bra att ha. När det är 30 min kvar slå i andra givan 37,5g Cascade. När det är 15 min kvar slå i 3/4 kryddmått med protafloc, detta gör ölet lite klarare. Vid 10 min kvar slå i 30g Cascade. Till sist vid 0 min kvar slå i 45g Cascade
Desinfektera! För desinficering med Star San blanda 15ml per 10 liter kallt vatten.
Kyl till 20-23 grader
Sila den kylda vörten genom silduken ner i den desinficerade jäshinken.
Mät OG
Doppa en sax och Jästförpackning i Star San lösning. Jag brukar ha Star San i en blomspruta tillhands. Klipp av toppen på förpackningen och sprinkla den över vörten. Slå på locket och låt stå i 30 min.
Ta den desinficerade vispen och vispa vörten ett par minuter. Det går också bra skaka hinken kraftigt med locket på.
13.Häll lite Star San lösning i jäsröret och sätt den i locket. Tryck försiktigt på locket och se så vattnet i jäsröret rör på sig, detta för att verifera att locket är tätt och ordentligt påsatt.
Jäs i ca 20 grader i 14 dagar
Koka upp en kastrull med vatten och låt den koka 10-15 min med lock på. Detta för att den skall bli desinficerad. Mät upp 6.5g strösocker per liter öl. Slå av vattnet från kastrullen men lämna ca 1.5 dl vatten kvar. Slå i sockret och koka lite lätt så att det löses upp.
Slå sockerlagen i den rena och desinficerade jäshinken. Låt svalna så det är omkring 20-25 grader.
Mät FG
Använda häverten för att flytta ölet till jäshinken med sockerlag.
Använd häverten och flaskfyllaren för att fylla flaskorna. Fyll tills att det precis skummar över, när du tar upp flaskfyllaren ur flaskan så blir det precis lagom mängd i flaskan. |

Mash in the 152 to 154 range for a bit
of body.You do not want the beer to thin.
I`ve made this brew 6 times.Last batch
was Mar 6 2014.If you have ever tried this
brew from wisconsin,(New Glarus) brewery
this recipe comes close to what
Spotted Cow is all about.They claim it
is a Farmhouse Ale but do not use Saison yeast.
After extensive research this is what I
I came up with for a recipe.The are
secretive about the yeast they use,but
the consensus is,it is a Kolsch yeast
either Wyeast 2565 or WLP 029 and I
think it is 029.My preference is 2565.
Wyeast 2565 is my house yeast.
Ferment at 58-60 degrees with Wyeast 2565
or 62-65 with WLP 029
I`ve had good compliments on this brew
from others.I live on the Wisconsin
border and they don`t sell it in Illinois,
for some reason they will not ship it to
this state.Will update as needed but for
now this recipe is a pretty solid clone.
I made 11 gals (2 batches) in march 2014
I cant keep it in the house fast enough.
SWMBO and her friends love it.With the
temps soaring in Chicago this is a great
brew for summer.From kettle to glass is
about 5 weeks so turnover is quick.
Good luck if you try it,shouldn`t be
disappointed.
Made batch 7 (5 gal) on 6-14-14 and used
Mt.Hood for flavoring (.5) and aroma (.5)
I think the domestic hops are closer to
the original flavor. -enjoy-
Made batch #8 2-28-2015 no changes should be ready to drink mid April
