My grain milling width must be grinding too small as clogging is a problem in my gas one mash tun....also hops directly in I did not cool the wort to mid 70s. It was trending 80s, 90s it turns out. Measuring the temp of the brass wort chiller waste water was misleading. Yeast did fine though with activity under 10 hours Transferring to secondary @ Gravity = 1.010, Flavor over malty, needed the hops at whirlpool Racking to keg, FG is 1.007, indicating an ABV of 7.2 as opposed to the 6.52 from the automatic calculations

Calcium Chloride and 1.25 tsp. Calcium Sulphate to your strike water and mash at 154° for 60 minutes. Raise temperature of mash to 170°, (called mash-out temperature) then run off 6.5 gallons of wort to begin your boil. When wort comes to a boil start a 30 minute timer. At the end of the boil add all 4 of the steep/whirlpool hop additions and stir gently in a circular motion, letting the hops steep for 15 minutes. Cool your beer, transfer to your fermenter, and pitch your yeast when the temperature of the beer is between 65° and 70°. When the yeast has reached peak activity (High Krausen) around day 2 add the four 0.75 oz. hop additions, and let sit for 2 days. Rack to secondary fermenter (removing the hops) and allow to ferment for 6 days then add the second dry hop additions. Let sit for an additional 2 days then bottle or keg your beer and enjoy!

Sierra Nevada Resilience IPA November 21, 2018 The Camp Fire–the most devastating wildfire in California’s history–has hit close to home for Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. While the Chico brewery was spared, many of Sierra Nevada’s employees, patrons and neighbors lost everything as the Camp Fire ravaged northern Californian. To help raise much needed support for the recovery efforts, Sierra Nevada has created a beer called Resilience IPA. Sierra Nevada, along with many of its professional brewing peers, will be brewing and selling Resilience IPA with all proceeds donated to the Sierra Nevada Camp Fire Relief Fund through Golden Valley Community Bank Foundation. It is our hope that homebrewers will make a batch of Resilience IPA in solidarity with Sierra Nevada and pro breweries across the country.
