From yesterday: Dry Apple & Blackberry Cider (1 litre bottle) at just 2 weeks old. ABV: 8.5%. After all those mixed fruit kits I tried I hit upon more of what I wanted by adding my own hand picked berries to a budget kit. Sharp and woody with already a good balance between the two fruits. Pink on top and something a bit reminiscent of Tawny Port at the base as far as my partial colour blindness can make out. Oh and thanks to BF priming calculator I finally seem to have got the carbonation right with this one - over the moon :)

Second half today. Carbonation gone down about 50% and disturbed sediment slightly which gave a nice twist to the taste.

Three month old Sweet Pear Cider, ABV: 8%. Contrasting in just about every way. Light although lasting carbonation. Already well matured. Silky smooth, slow sipping stuff at the back end of summer.

My first thought was "Pumpkin spices in a Märtzen? You can't do that!". Then I started to imagine what it would taste like and now I wish I could try yours! If I ever get back into a brewing rhythm I have to keep this in mind. :)

It is quite tastey. Although my club said I can't enter it in the monthly contest.

View attachment 26731 Since I needed an avocado for dinner tonight, I walked in the rain to the market. Then on the way home The Friendly Garden got in my way.
Drinking Everybody's Fresh Hop IPA.
Damn that friendly garden! They oughta move it out of the way.

Hey, everyone needs a break from the rain now and then.

Unfortunately, The Friendly Garden will be closing for about 6 months at the end of October. In place of open air tents, there will be an actual building to house the taps, seating and performance spaces. There will be an open air rooftop space. It all sounds very cool, but we lose our walk to watering hole for a while. Sounds like I need to ramp up the homebrew production!
