New kettle, which allows me to convert the old kettle to a mash tun using the false bottom and various hardware bits. Theoretically, no more step ladder and sketchy pizza pan lautering system and instead, a pump driven recirculating mash and sparge, and lauter off to the 2nd kettle for the boil. More bits and disconnects should arrive Thursday. Now to figure out which recipe I use to break it in!

Yeast and Taiheke hops
Got two of each I ordered expired dry yeast they threw In two for good measure.

Suits me I'm making a starter anyway.

Never used ither yeast heard great things about Diamond lager though looking forward to brewing with both.

@Figjam72 your getting one of each just make sure you do a starter first to get em firing.

Nice one
Was wondering what to brew next, I guess you’ve answered that one for me!
Lager and an Ale, done
Don't have anything appropriate to make a Gluten free starter so it's gunna be raw sugar with a good dose of Nutrient to get one on them Munich wheat beer yeasts going it'll then get stepped with some Real Wort from brew day on Friday I'll post a pic once she's sorted.

Got my latest (and last) Hop Box subscription from Yakima Valley Hops. They included 4 oz of Citra hop hash (https://yakimavalleyhops.com/products/hop-hash). Supposed to be used in late boil and dry hop additions. I'm pretty sure it's just gunk scraped from the pelletizer during production, but it's probably chock full of resin and oils. I'll add it to my latest brew in the dry hop instead of Motueka and let y'all know what I think.

Diamond is a great yeast.

But...

I will be anticipating your take on Munich Classic. I used it once and didn't care for it. Didn't attenuate all the way and left a very bready, musty flavor. Very likely it was "user error" and not the fault of the yeast, but it may be a good while before I give it another go.

Citra's good stuff. I like a combination of Mosaic and Citra, or either one. Nice tropical notes. If it's concentrated, would be nice to know the AAU per gram. Did they give you that information?

Oh no way that sux man I sure hope that's not the case with my beer especially since my attenuation has sucked thus far...

That Diamond Lager said its a German Lager Strain must be similar to weihnstephaner 34/70.

Nope. I'm sure it's similar to their yield from the 2023 crop, since that's what it comes from. If it's supposed to be used for dry hopping then it's a moot point anyway
