What did you get delivered today

I have some, but haven’t used them yet because I know they are no match for the skin shredding torpedo screen in my kettle, despite being nylon. I’m going to try a mash soon when I get a kettle with a false bottom so I don’t melt the bottom of the bag. All things have a priority, and right now that’s the kitchen remodeling.
From what I've found with my Biab brewing is you definitely won't melt that bag maybe some minor scorch marks but no melting.

Think of it like throwing a plastic bottle filled with water on the fire
The water in the bottle prevents the plastic from melting.:)

Depends. I have had my bag sitting on my 1500 watt elements and burned a hole in it. Some of the reason I added a rims for fast temp gain

Haven’t melted a bag, but sure melted off a half inch of my plastic stir paddle. My burner might be approximately equivalent to using a 20 pound sledgehammer for a flyswat. I can melt ANYTHING including the bottom of an aluminum pot with that beast. Boeing 747’s are jealous of the roar this thing makes when I turn it up. I learned very quickly not to do that with anything but plain water in the kettle, vis a vis, the stirring paddle.

Wow well I've learned something today.

I've never had any issues with the Biab bag sitting on the element even with a higher watt density element on the keg king one.

I can understand the propane one though it seams to me brewing isn't a if I'm observing something than it must be the same for others type scenario

In the 160+ Biab brews I've done with gas and electric that's one thing I've not managed to do yet touch wood:D.

I received my first online purchase of grain for my next two brews. I ordered from MoreBeer. I ordered hops from them as well because Yakima Valley Hops was out of Fuggles I need for my ESB. They were also out of BRY-97 that I was going to use for Ben's Bunyip recipe. So, I'll use the US-05 I have on-hand.

Sticking with the hops in the recipe too I see :)

The first time I brew a recipe I try to stick to the original recipe as much as possible. I always start with the assumption that the author knew what he was doing when he created the recipe.
Don’t do one of my recipes then. I haven’t a clue about what I’m doing.

I do enjoy the difference in a home/craft brew over commercial stuff. It may be good to me just because I made it, lol. A beer judge I am NOT. I just know if I like it or don’t. I like trying a lot different brews, mostly because I’ve had a sheltered beer life. Dunno if I’ll like something or not until I try it. Sometimes I have to try a whole six pack to know.

Got some Amyloglucosidase to hopefully help with my crap attenuation on my GF beverages this stuf is temp stable 45 - 60c it'll produce more glucose on my wort oh and it can be added to the fermenter as well.

Also got some Deltamalt Enzyme it's a Protease - beta Glucanase - Alpha Amylase blend I'll have to read up on the enzyme temp targets.

No malt I got that part of brewing covered these days...

Sweet I've got a couple of Christmas brews lined up let's see if I can get a super dry rice lager to work  .

View attachment 26978 Delivered yesterday, I got a custom 200 micron bag for my 5.5 gallon kettle. I look forward to putting it into use, but need to get through a home repair project first.
Like their bags. Especially how the liquid drips in the middle so less mess.

Gypsum and a new mini keg delivered
