What are you drinking right now?

1/2 a whirlfloc in the kettle. Then time. Unless I have a very stubborn yeast, I find most every beer clears with time. The beer above is about 3 weeks in the keg with my old reliable BRY-97.
It's been 2+ weeks in the keg for mine

Latest Lager Lemon myrtle and orange peal it's weird but good my other keg kicked only 4 weeks that one drinking too easily

Aye tis indeed but I am known for my patience.

Anyway some of it should get chance to mature now as I just remembered I bought a small Bavarian selection from Aldi to raise a glass or three to Oktoberfest. And coming back from the dentist this morning I went into Home Bargains to kill an hour before I could eat/drink anything and came away with a 5L mini-keg of Warsteiner - new to me but reads authentic ala purity law and knocked down from £18 to £12. Just two weeks out of date - I've had stuff way past that so it chose itself as the present for my Birthday coming up. Plus I'll get even more value if it proves to be reusable (looks that way). May prove to be a good source for kegs in the future.

Tonight: just a glass of Elderflower wine or should I say Gewurztraminer.
Warsteiner is Germany's 'budweiser', a lighter mass-market beer. They sell a lot of it. Best cold. I'm not a huge fan - it is ok, but not as flavorful as I prefer. You will probably find us both inoffensive and a bargain.

Well I wasn't expecting a top of the range from HB's but I had a brief budweiser phase and I always described that as 'ok' so we might be on the same page there. Light may explain why so far I haven't found the ABV although I don't stack everything on that. A couple of stickers to peel off yet. Keg is already in the fridge for the weekend. As things stand it sounds like I am in for a reasonable session beer to go with some snack food. I wouldn't grumble at that.

None of my photos showed up too well but tonight I tried one I keep seeing on here: Paulaner which was easily the best.

Next; Spaten was not bad at all.

The third, Franziskaner Weissbier (a hazy beer) was not to my liking. I actually think I prefer my first attempt at Bavarian Wheat (especially after you pointed out it is supposed to be served hazy). All being well I am gonna check a bottle of that for an update tomorrow.

Nice. Note that Paulaner and Spaten make several beers. I'm a fan of the Spaten Optimator, a very strong beer. The actual brewery is Franziskaner-Spaten, and even though it is owned by Anheuser-Busch, the beers are same as ever. Paulaner is a very popular German brand.

The Franziskaner Hefeweitzen is my idea of what a Hefe should taste like. Malty, yeasty, a bit of banana. It isn't for everyone, but it my favorite.

Early birthday wishes for you, then, and many happy returns. I thought age made anything alcoholic (unlike human) better. I’m aging too, but I’m not so sure it’s good for me.

Thanks @Donoroto & @RoadRoach

I think I must be losing it. Gone and put that keg in the fridge a week early. That's what happens when I start multi-tasking and yacking away at the same time. At least the Warsteiner is gonna be well chilled by next weekend.

Anyway on with the theme:

My Bavarian Wheat Beer at 4 months, ABV: 5%. Poured almost clear even though it was slightly gushing as soon as I flipped the swing top open. Actually surprised myself with how cool the process looked and went considering those things still make me jump not having many. Probably just an occasional thing I'll never fully get used to. Basically fun though. Tasted fine but better after I poured the rest in. Fairly complex, nice bit of clove in there, very refreshing and not very bloaty. Never imagined I would be happy about drinking hazy beer but there it is.
