What are you drinking right now?

Whatcha gonna use for yeast in the wheat?
I used liquid Wyeast 1332 Northwest Ale, a first for me. Wyeast is the one that has the internal smack pack of nutrients that needs to be broken to get the yeast jump started. It was pretty cool watching the pouch swell to the point that it looked like it would pop. The yeast has completed the bulk of its work, now I’m just giving it time to clean up according to my usual 3 week fermentation schedule.

Edit - Oops, after checking my notes, I realize that I used US-05 on the Wheat Ale. The Wyeast 1332 was actually used on Smooth Stout, brewed the week prior to the Wheat Ale.

I'm just wondering if I should have another cup of tea :p
Or Cider
Or De Koninck
Or Irish Red
Or an ice cold Mosi lager
Why not have’em all? If ya don’t have to answer to anyone (except maybe the neighbors when you start howling at the moon), PARTY ON, DUDE, Can’t remember if that was Bill or Ted.

US-05 is quite fast. I’ve repitched it a few times and had krausen climb through 10” of headspace to get in the airlock. I like S-33, too, but it’s not as quick to drop out after it’s done. That should be a nice brew.

A (somewhat) local brew from Huntsvegas (Huntsville,AL). Low IBU, 5.4% ABV, very malty. Could almost disguise itself as sweet tea.

Pretty tasty after starting the day with my semiannual sadomasochistic torture session (aka dental cleaning), followed up with 6 hours of spreading drywall compound. I’m pretty sure I could still win a marathon if I were a quadriplegic and someone was scraping my teeth with sharp steel instruments. There’s usually at least finger imprints in the arms of the chair when the hygienist is done, but today I heard the dentist ask a technician to repair the chair I was still sitting in. Pretty sure there were repairs needed to the vinyl covering due to “clinching”. As for the drywall, we’re about 90% complete with the drywall repairs and mods in our kitchen remodel project. Hoping to do the final sanding and priming tomorrow on everything except the bottom half of the wall that the sink base is on, which we’ll wipe out on Thursday. Might have upper cabinets hung by Saturday night. Yes, that’s the dishwasher in the background of the photo.

Having a Tractor Smash (or 2) while I stop for dinner. All old cabinets except the sink base are now removed or loose, and sheet rock work is about 90% complete. Gonna pull the sink base tomorrow and make a few small plumbing repairs/upgrades and patch/seal the wall behind it, then temporarily put it back until we can install the new corner cabinet and new sink base. Cutting the old counter top so I can reuse it in my future brew shed. Might be putting cabinets in on Saturday. Gonna be a very different kitchen when done.

Aaah, sheetrock dust! :D

Enough to explode a bag in my 16 gallon shop vac so far. Fortunately I had a filter on it too and just lost suction and didn’t completely cover house. We’ve probably put 200 pounds of mud on the walls in this house this year, and seems like we sanded at least 150 of it back off. We renovated the hall and added an attic stair, combined a formal living room and dining room into what I call the mess hall, and now the kitchen. Almost done with the mud work. Should be tomorrow night, depending on what it takes behind the sink base. Doing walls ain’t so bad, but inverted work on ceilings is hell on the lower back. I probably replaced 30% of the sheet rock in the kitchen. Used up the majority of 3 sheets for patching and closing up the holes left by removing the useless soffit. That’s gonna add nearly 30 cubic feet of useful cabinet space.

Ennyhoo, having another Smash or two before I shower and kick my feet up.

Oh yeah, forgot renovations to the stairs to the basement too. Removed plywood and cheap commercial carpeting on the walls and put proper sheet rock on it and added some chair rail for trim. Looks a LOT better. Might do new treads, but those puppies are fiendishly expensive.
