What are you drinking right now?

Had a few from a new brewery literally a 4 min walk from work. True Respite. Pretty good for being open only a few weeks.
And now I'm having some Smirnoff and mountain dew....(hangs head in somewhat shame, but I'm feelin good so whatever)

Getting readyto go on call so doing it up right tonight!

Nice. I've never had one but I hear they're great.

Sierra Nevada's Experimental Hop Double IPA. Their description fits well:
An aggressive new hop varietal plays tricks on the mind in this bold Double IPA. Though the beer has never seen the inside of a barrel, HBC 472 lends it a distinctive oaky, barrel-aged character. Jackson 104 brings heavy fruit-forward and citrus-like flavors to the beer, while Steiner 07270 rounds out the hop finish with deep, resinous notes of dank pine and grapefruit for a complex and powerful beer.

Third out of four. Sierra Nevada Experimental Hop Session IPA. My favorite so far.
Ingredients
  • Yeast Ale yeast
  • Bittering Hops Experimental Hops 520 & 09326
  • Finishing Hops Experimental Hops 520 & 09326
  • Malts Two-Row Pale, Pilsner, Golden Promise, Wheat

OK, the last of the four. Experimental Hop IPA. This one really reminds me of Torpedo. My favorite beer when I really want to get torpedoed.

You've been busy today! Hope that means you're feeling better

Yes, thanks. Nothing like a little work in the garden and a few beers out sitting in the fresh air. The warm weather really helps the old bones too.

Missed out on our club winter event to stupid man flu ....
14 beers on tap
BBQ
Consoling myself with a Vienna lager , shaping up well and rich enough but still finishes clean .
I have the red IPA I was supposed to share last night but not an empty tap

10 tap keggerator bru ha ha brought 3 50lt kegs others brought jockey boxes or wheely bins rigged up with plate chillers so heaps of beer heaps of veriety.
i actually judged this year scores were valid judged on mead/cider/ wild -brett/lambic/sour beer table so a great introduction to this funky side of beer and man i need to brew mead now we had some awesome examples one blueberry mead was just spectacular and i ended up hunting it down latter in night to really savour it that got a 44 best on table. a barleywine won the day with 45. something.
awesome learning experience comparing beer notes woth the bjcp table judge hunting down differnt aromas and flavours gives me a deeper insite into my own beer to help identify certain flaws that i wouldnt of picked out having not been walked through that proces of identifying it.
also getting to rub shoulders with hombrewers who have just recently dove in the deep end and are now brewing for a living at local craft joints was good too.

looking forward to september for state now i wont miss it this year!
oh and we kicked a fair few of them kegs last night.

Can recommend training for BJCP , I have my exams in September / October and even what I've learned so far has made me a better brewer and refined my palate
