I like it. Bananas on the nose, spicy phenols on the taste. I’m not sure I can identify it as clove (as it’s supposed to be), but spicy nonetheless. A style worth looking into.
Clove in a Hefe is very subtle. And it's not exactly clove (at least to my palate) but quite similar. You should also be getting a little yeastiness in there, often called bready. Oh, and Hefe is often at around 4 vols, so very fizzy for a beer.

If you brew this, try to find "stronger" bottles, as standard ale bottles can break from the pressure. Ideal would be European Hefe bottles.

I don't think it would really hurt anything, the Midnight Wheat is pretty low key in the flavor profile anyway. I say go for it!
Yup dropping it won't help clarity I find beers with it are brite for me.

If you wanna see through it you may want to scale back the SRM maybe by 10

Good tips, thanks Don.

I'm not kidding it blew bubbles after that shot!
So round two Dark Mild is in the pipeline.
I'm seriously considering a packet of chopped up dates maybe 10 left in the boil:eek:.
Go for it. Only your imagination is the limit of your experiments

Doing that long awaited side by side.

The RO pils seems crisper and it's kinda dryer.
My water pilsner is a little softer it's not as bitter but I did lower the IBUs a tad on it.
My water pilsner is also a bit rawer like bread doughy it needs some lagering time it's still a bit "green". But it does seem to have a tad extra body or is more full on the flavour just slightly.

The Ro pilsner has what I feel that classic pilsner feel. It's a better beer but it's also hopped with Sazz compared to my water pilsner it's hopped with Mittlefuruh I do LOVE Sazz though.

Cool I hope you liked this side by side I've lernt a bit.
I'm happy with both beers. My Water pislner is a bit hazy i think fermentation didnt go as well as in the RO one same yeast just the next generation on.
Overall they both arnt my best crack at pilsner but I'm sure they pass for style;)
might brew this one again and enter it into the QLD comp and see what the judges think.
Cheers

View attachment 20255 Back at BJ’s, drinking Piranha Pale Ale. My first beer was a Harvest Hefeweizen. Just for research, you know.
Been a while. Love hat place. I like their burgers, flatbreads, and of course beer. Oasis was one I remember. THe Red and Piranha were great too.
