She is sipping Anomaly, a strong dark Belgian ale, while I’m drinking Kick Kick DDH DIPA with Galaxy and El Dorado. We’re at Monkish, a newer brewery in Anaheim. This actually occupies the space where Anaheim Brewery used to exist.

Now I’m enjoying Windsor Winner Chocolate Vanilla Stout from Unsung Brewing at Anaheim Packing House. Interestingly, this is a project promoted by the lhbs (Windsor) where I get my brewing ingredients.

Oh yeah, sure. My wife liked that beer so much, she had another. It was good! She says malty, strong (boozy), smooth without any bitterness, with a good mouthfeel. I would guess that it was brewed with a pretty clean Belgian ale yeast, as esters and phenols were minimal. She wants to go back again for more.

I’ll work on that. I have a Belgian pale ale in the fermenter now, ready to bottle. It might suit her taste. More research necessary.

Marzen. This was brewed in January split between 2 kegs. The first keg was super clear. This one was not. This one sat in the fridge longer so it doesn’t make sense. Oh well tastes fine.
