What are you drinking right now?

Well, California might have its drawbacks, but it is a great place to live.
Yes, indeed. We live about 30 miles inland from the coast, and about an hour away from the mountains. Right now, my wife and I are sunning poolside in Palm Springs, just 85 miles from home. From our hotel room, we can walk to a wide variety of attractions, from mountain hiking, to art exhibits, and any number of good restaurants, as well as a couple breweries. As much as we like it here, we are seriously considering moving to Eugene, Oregon for a slower pace of life.

Not a fan of taxes or regulation. Or mudslides or wildfires or earthquakes either. But climate? Things to do? Eat? Drink? O M G.

No place is perfect. But some come darn close.

(Hell, even Jed Clampett moved there :p)

Having lived in California my whole life, taxes, regulation, mudslides, wildfires and earthquakes are all accepted as part of the deal. And yes, the climate is awesome. There is a lot of great beer, too.

That's good because you need a great beer (or six) to deal with that list! :D

Nightcap.

Yeah but I did your trick and Took two 1.25lt Pet bottles worth to force carb some with;).

The rest is in bottles.
Nice!
I ended up with 19 liters fermenter volume, and will likely lose 1.5L to trub, but I will still do the same!

Interesting bevvy there Megary fermented with grape juice and aged in red wine barrels.

Does it taste like port a little?
Not really. More of a malty, dark fruit kind of thing. For 8.5%, it wasn’t that boozy. This bottle was from 2019, so not sure how age works on this type of beer. I was hoping for more of that vinous, grapey character, but it’s lost at this point, if it was ever there to begin with. Pretty good beer, not great.

I've noticed a rather strong correlation between the attractiveness of a place to live and the cost of living there. We're pretty pricey here in Colorado, too, but with lower taxes....

How did I neglect to mention traffic? It usually sucks, but sometimes you get lucky. Like today, when we drove the 85 miles back home from Palm Springs. It took under 90 minutes. Home to my homebrew - I might enjoy one or two of them tonight.
