Kombucha for sure! Now don’t get me wrong, there is a side benefit to drinking Rolling Rock. It makes your next beer taste sooooo much better. :p

I had a long history with RR back in the day. Those green bottles may have looked attractive on the shelf, but they did nothing to protect the beer inside. But...when you are young, poor, desperate, and maybe slightly outside the law  you live with what you get. A few years back I had one and I decided that one was enough to meet my life’s quota. I hope Rolling Rock is not a sponsor to this site...

Even back in the 1980s-90s, when I was drinking Miller, I didn't like Rolling Rock. Miller didn't have much body and had some flavor. And that was a lot better than Rolling Rock which didn't have much body and it had that DMS off-flavor; not that I knew what to call it back then.

Finally trying out these single hop pales side by side. Grain bill was pale, Vienna, C40, and carapils, and hop additions were at 60 min, 30 min, 5 min, and dry hopped to about 35 IBUs. Left to right is Chinook, Sterling, and Simcoe. Simcoe is my favorite by far. If I did this recipe again I would move the 30 min addition to the end of the boil or add it to the dry hops. Hoping to get some 2nd opinions this week. Cheers!!

Excellent exercise! I’ll have to try Simcoe sometime.

Yards Brawler - English Mild

Really enjoying everything I’ve tried from Yards. They seem to be a no-frills operation. Pick a style, nail it, don’t go crazy. Beer made for beer drinkers. I’ve had their Porter, Pale Ale and now their English Mild, all winners, all true to style.
