Another Dunkel. Better carbonation on this bottle

This isn't how it is supposed to turn out.... but, it's not the first time I've had bottles become volcanoes... and I'm sure it won't be my last, although I have since tweaked my priming sugar calculator to try and avoid future repeats.
I can say though, it is short lived as after the bottle settles down in 3-4 minutes and I pour..... the carbonation in the glass is actually near perfect. Double IPA, one of the beers that everyone here (friends and family) ask that I continue providing.
this is an example of just a few grams difference... I should have added 97 gms to 25 liters versus me adding 109 gms... and the results of that minor mistake is below.

Had some friends over to taste 4 homebrews: pale ale, 2 blondes, and an oatmeal stout. Everyone had good things to say and I'm feeling very encouraged :) they even asked when the next batch would be ready, and if they could come back to sample more!

You know it's a good burger when you need to ask for more napkins, and it falls apart everytime you set it back down on your plate!

If it's that good, why would you put i

I wouldn't think overshooting sugar by 12% would be the difference between good carbonation and a gusher. I usually shoot for 2.2-2.5 volumes CO2 and add sugar close to the amount of sugar you used and never have a gusher. Are all the bottles in a batch gushers? If not them maybe the sugar solution wasn't mixed thoroughly into the beer. Did you let it warm before opening? Or maybe a nefarious friend handed it to you after giving it a good shake? :D

yes... all the bottles are the same. same here, I wouldn't think a little error in calculation would have that effect... but it is exactly the same result from each bottle opened... typically I open in a sink and let it sit. yesterdays opening was in a small bucket. I did try previously to just crack the cap and let it spew off, then recap for future pours and that helped some, but not enough to justify doing it with each bottle... I just accept the loss and let it erupt for a few minutes. Wish I could point to something as to 'why' this happened but the only error I could find was the over-addition of priming sugar, though minute.
I am drinking from them at cellar temps... I used to like them chilled to 40 or below but have acquired a taste for them not so cold. Even the ones I chilled to 34 degrees, spewed almost the same.

Stopped by to support a local craft brewer, they make the odd good beer, so I do tend to stop in the odd good time... this is a very good example of a 6% hazy, 30 IBU's, leaves a bit of a tart resinous aftertaste. Good enough to bring some home and see what my beer snob friends think!

I like my Bent Barley because they make exactly what they advertise: Beer flavored beer.

I have to admit I’m not a huge fan of SN Pale Ale. I think it’s good, but a bit too sweet for me to enjoy one after another.

This, on the other hand, I can drink all day long.

That looks really good! I’ve not seen it before. Pretty much only see SN’s pale ale here.

So good! I usually drink them in the sample pack with Pale ale and Torpedo IPA...
