What are you doing with homebrew today?

I decided it's a sessions pale ale....
I carbonated for a day and night at 30 psi
Now (daytime) it's in the fridge to come out at night for another CO2 treatment.
From thenon, bursts in the fridge whenever it gets opened.

I should now be able to ferment temperature controlled. So a wit or weiẞen me be on the cards.
No chill at higher SG, diluted into fermenter with ice water to get sort of close to required fermentation temperature.
But first another kveik on trub, methinks

Sounds very Shakespearian, verily…

I just kegged my one brew and brewing another to put on the trub
Very simple beer with just extra pale ale malt, Galena for bittering (FWH) and Saaz just before flame out. No chill.
Roughly 4.5% alcohol (corrected refractometer readings)

New batch is going to be the same except 70% extra pale ale and 30% vienna. Same hops

No idea about style. Just brewing on a whim :)
Depending on the hop level, sounds like a Pale Ale. If you get up in the 45 IBU ish range and make a single hop Pale Ale, those are good.

In your closed transfer system, i assume you pressurize the empty keg and then connect to your fermenter. Is that right? What psi do you pressurize at? I need to figure out a method to do a closed transfer (i currently just stick tube into keg and gravity drain). I have an SS brewtech fermenter and i think the lid can handle pressure but Ill need to do some research.

Most times these days I do not open the empty keg. It sits empty in my kegerator still on CO2 until needed. I then use a 2 liter sodabottle and the adapter to pressure in Star San about a couple cups at a time , shake up and pressure out to clean. It takes about three rinses to see clean Star San comming out. Depressure any remaining CO2 you used to push out the StarSan .(I leave just a little for the next step)
Then set the fermenter on the counter and the keg under it. Connect a line from the fermenter to the liquid line of the keg.
The kegs gas line connects to the top of the fermenter with a tee. I use a quart zip loc bag on the other side of the tee. Fill the zip lock bag with CO2 from the left over in the keg or external source. The bag just gives a little breathing room to ballance things so no vacuum on the fermenter.
Open up the fermenter and let it fill the keg.
My liquid line is a silicone line. I the liquid line gets a bit of trub and plugs, a squeeze or two on the line will clear it.
SOOOoo.. no pressure at all. And no air.
Dont forget to clean all the lines before use.

Brewing! Had an open fermenter and some extra time. Put together a blonde ale recipe that should complement the IPA and brown lager nicely. 50% 2 row, 50% Munich 1, Barbe Rouge, and Lemondrop hops. Should be under 5.5% abv with some red fruits/berries and lemon/citrus notes
