I brewed today!

Rain water ale is not part of the Project?
It is extremely soft. And I did have to pull the pot inside for a while - once the hail started falling. Ahh, springtime in the Rockies, or at least the adjacent plains.

Would of worked well if your were in the midst of chilling your wort lol.:D

Not actually brewing today but dare say there's plenty of brewing to be done now our 40 sacks of malt the club bought have arrived

Not all in the photo is mine but still a great photo

Weyermann eh? Pilsner malt of course? Who's is the Bairds Marris Otter malt bag yours? I've got me a bag of that guess will know that malt pretty well by the end of it.

Brewed me Porter early this morning. Just infusion mash go 79% efficiency the new Dp for this brew was 60 so I still got good conversion. Mashed 65 for hour then 71 for half hour.

Cheers JMcnamara I took your advice and drew off a litre of wort and boiled this down to a syrup it tasted like chocolate not kidding I've included a photo not sure if it will be clear. But I just wizzed it in the thermomix for an hour or so.

I got just the same efficiency as mashing decoction so not much difference there.

I'm really looking forward to this brew it had a lovely chocolate flavour not as astringent as I thought it maybe with the home roasted malt a little coffee flavour I'm getting too.

I ended up getting a Brewers Best extract kit today. Amber Ale. I bet it's been 3 years since I've done an extract brew. Should be fun! I have to take my youngest to the airport late this afternoon (not that I wouldn't have had time to do BIAB.) He's headed to Fatima, Portugal for a week.

It's nice to drop back and do an extract batch once in a while. Three hour brew day is rather nice, too.

I felt lazy and did a couple and wow talk about easy peasy brew day, I might just fall back to extract all the time lol

Very tempting isnt it , i still do kits sometimes with a friend .
Brewday ( not really ) of under an hour from go to whoa and drinkable beer at the end
