Who do you cheer for?

I very much agree that a competitive sport is much more interesting and entertaining to watch. Nothing against Louis Hamilton but, for years I rooted against Mercedes (sorry Don) simply because it got boring seeing a Mercedes 1-2 finish race after race. And with now Max winning 50 of the last 75 races, I was happy that others have been winning lately.
Well I hope you enjoyed yesterday even with Max winning...

It was a much more entertaining race than that snore fest in Monaco. And Danny Ric finished in the points!

Most definitely. With the rain-dry-rain forcing different tire strategies you didn't really know who was going to win through most of the race. And Danny Ric has always been one of my favorite drivers.

Must win for @Hawkbox 's Oilers tonight, and again Saturday really.
I am torn, I do want the Canadian team to win, but I really like the Florida Panthers, at least the way they play anyway...
I just hope it goes 7 games so there is just a bit more hockey to watch.

Edmonton isn't playing like they want to win a cup sadly. You don't cough it up in front of your own net repeatedly if you're a serious contender. I was camping in Whitehorse until Wednesday and missed the first two games, the one last night was at least close though it shouldn't have been.

I don't think they ever had a chance. Panthers are seriously hungry after getting so close last year. Have to see if the Oilers respond similarly

Seems like the Oilers have quite a few guys playing hurt, Draisital, and Nurse for sure. That was Florida's downfall last year, they seem pretty healthy this year.

I'll be watching European Championship football (soccer for most of you here).
Obviously supporting the Netherlands :)

Uh oh....

They've woken up! Reverse sweep or are they just too banged up?

It's going to depend on Brobovski I think, if he's rattled then the oilers have a shot. If not then Florida probably wins this in 5. Then running up the score last night was hopefully a way to get in the Panthers heads.

Scotland in the same tournament although I mostly just have it on the radio these days. Hoping for an improvement from the 1-5 against Germany :(

apparently Canada put up a very strong performance against Argentina last night in a 2 nil loss

Go Oilers!
Force a game 7!
Then I don't care except for enjoying the drama of a game 7 in the Stanley Cup playoffs!
There is nothing like it in sports!
There is also no trophy in sports as storied as the Stanley Cup itself.
Commissioned in 1892 by Lord Stanley of Preston who was Canada's Governor General at the time.
He loved the game!
Every player who has one the Stanley cup has had their name engraved on it, hence it growing over the years.

Over the years bands have been removed and new ones added.
The removed bands are in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
The original bowl is actually not on top of the "official" Stanley Cup, it is in a vault at the HHofF.
The Hall of Fame is actually in an old Bank of Montreal building in Toronto, so when I say it is in a vault, it is in the bank vault!
