What's your next brew

5.5-6 . Measuring, milling, water prep, mashing, herms setup, sparge , Lauter, ramp up times, boil, cool down , transfer, cleanup. I probably need to go to sn AIO system lol

That's pretty much my brew day as well. To do it any faster would make it seem like work. Plus I'd be exhausted.

Saturday I’ll brew a lager. Using chinook in place of Hallertau. This is for a buddy based on his descriptions which will not be accurate based on the initial information he gave. Steel Beach Lager from San Diego was what he told me he liked. He said “weed” and pine. I was tempted to brew him a Helles and not tell him. But the description from their site says pilsner malt and American hops. Figured that had to be a C hop of some sort but who knows. If anyone’s had this beer I’m all ears

Good luck with that Chinook in a lager wow that's a far fetch.

I'm looking forward to hearing what you think about it.:)

I get weed from Columbus and Apollo

I don’t even know what the beer he wants tastes like :D
He is a Miller lite/corona fan. He described it as bitter, weed, and piney. But it’s a 4.5% 20 ibu lager.

Can’t have much hops at 20 IBU. I’m thinking Warrior for a “grassy” note, but it would have to be really late. At nearly 16AAU, Warrior is gonna make a pretty bitter beer with very little hops. Confusing request indeed. Sounds about like my son-in-law. Can’t hand real beer.

Read the many online reviews. Not one mentions dank. Maybe he was drunk. Maybe his nose is broken.

My guess is his palate. He admiringly “doesn’t know what he’s talking about”. I’m tempted to simply make my typical Helles and not tell him. I’m out buying any other hops than what I have and I have plenty for German lagers

Corona is usually a little skunky, what some might deescribe as dank. I would not describe it as bitter or piney. You probably should just brew him something that you like, Bend his will to your side. Use the force, Josh.

Perhaps everything for a Helles except the hops. Get some American hops and just use those. Be sure to keep a straight face all the time.

He wasn’t describing corona. It was Steel beach lager. Corona is his usual. I will use the force haha

Skunky and dank are good words to describe Corona. Never figured out what the fuss was. Tastes like a Miller that got forgotten in a hot warehouse somewhere. Actually, homebrew has spoiled me. I don’t think anything commercial has any taste at all.
