Gunna ferment this in a corny keg.

Drat. As luck would have it, I went down a rabbit hole today looking for some materials for an upcoming project, and didn't get to the brew before 1 PM. Didn't want to be in the middle of that when 'Bama was having their butts handed to them by Texas. Bad game, 'nuff said.

So, looks like I'm gonna hit it tomorrow morning.

Dunno whether to use the Simcoe or the Citra hops in this one (Pils) and the other in the next SMaSH (2-Row). I think I've got some good combos waiting to happen.

My next brew is going to be Janet's Brown Ale. I plan to use homegrown Northern Brewer hops from @Bulin's Milker Bucket Brews. Since I do not have any cascade hops on hand, and I can no longer run down to my LHBS to pick them up I was thinking of doubling down on the Bulin hops and swapping out the cascade that the recipe called for (10 min & 0 min) to Bulin's cluster hops. What do you guys think? I realize it won't be Janet's Brown Ale so I think I'll rename this batch "Tim's Brown Ale" :)

Go for it. That's the beauty of brewing your own.

The Cluster and Northern Brewer I grow are the hops I use in my Shore Leave Cali Common, probably one of my best beers. In my experience, they pair very nicely...of course your milage may vary.

Next up is another clone. Maine Beer Company "Dinner" sometime next week.
I have enjoyed a few bottles of their “Lunch” offering, and it was delicious.

As for my own brewing, I am thinking it is a great time to brew my Smooth Stout. I also want to take another shot at my American Wheat, but this time fermenting it in the mid-high 60’s F. Janet’s Brown Ale is a perfect consideration for the first weeks of Autumn. And then there is my Belgian-style Dubbel Switch, too. In reality, I don’t know what I’m brewing next, but I will figure it out before I brew it.

Chimay Grand Reserve. I got to get this brewed so I can condition it for a Thanksgiving opening.
Really curious as to how that one works out!
I won't be brewing for a bit. Not allowed to lift anything over 5 kg and I don't have a set up like Craig....

The current SMaSH is lookin’ really nice. Hope it tastes as good as it looks. Next up, another SMaSH using 2 row and Citra. Still gonna do S-33 so the only two variables will be the malt and hops. Might just repitch the second collection from the bulb. Vertical nice looking white yeast cake in the collector. Will likely bottle it this weekend and maybe brew the next too. Don’t need to wash bottles, so bottling and brewing same day is possible. Maybe Saturday while I listen to the Bama game. Dunno if I can bear to watch it. Might be needing a paper bag to be a Bama fan this year.

Good luck I see some do a sour mash sorta thing with Guinness too.
I did the lactic acid thin last time, per glass though with a dropper. Subtle twang. I’m considering the sour thing this spring but as I’ve never intentionally soured anything I’m a little nervous

Kegs are all getting low. Planning a 10G batch of German pils but first a 5G batch of Kentucky Common. I’ve never brewed one before and never even drank one before. Not letting that stop me. Just dreading the 6hr brew day
Why 6 hours step mashing or extra long boil?

MAN that sounds as long as a Gluten free brewing day:).

5.5-6 . Measuring, milling, water prep, mashing, herms setup, sparge , Lauter, ramp up times, boil, cool down , transfer, cleanup. I probably need to go to sn AIO system lol

My AIO (brewzilla) still takes over 5 hours from setup to cleaned.
