What did you get delivered today

After it is wired, yes. It has a water tight connector on it so you don't have to worry about getting zapped.
Always a good thing.

Yeah I coulda opted for stainless on mine but it's just black plastic does the job;).

Ya, i wouldn't have cared if the back was plastic. As long as it did the job. The Denord brand all have stainless backs

Bench capper from Anvil. I was always looking for one, but never pulled the trigger. Saw this on their website for ~$35 and seemed too good to be true. With a 5% online coupon and $8 shipping it was just over $40. Happily surprised when I opened the box. This thing is rock solid - very good quality. And folds up nicely. I’ll be testing it out this weekend. Turns out my deal probably was too good to be true. Went back on their website and now it’s $69! I’m guessing there was a pricing error.

I like this! Folds up for storage and the bell look designed properly. I bought an $80 Italian design and the bell was square corners. Wouldn't crimp the caps for nothing. I ended up removing the bell they provided and putting my trusty "big red" hand capper bell on it

Gonna try my hand at a nitro stout. Allot higher pressure than co2 alone

Maybe they have square bottles over in Italy! :p

So it wasn't just a square housing surrounding a cylindrical bell on the inside? If it was square inside and out, I can't see how that would ever work.

it was shaped like a cyclinder. so round, but 90° edges on the top where the cap got crimped. I agree, no idea how that was supposed to work reliably.

So 3.5 bar Nitro, do you put that on top if the co2, or it goes in alone (or nearly so)? Drank Guinness but never used nitro.
It's actually called "beer mix" at the gas store. It's 70% n2 and 30%co2.

You have to maintain about 35psi to serve to keep it carbed.

Now I wonder who the hell discovered the Nitrogen in stout thing I wonder if it was Guinness brewery testing things out?

You know who was the guy/girl who thought oh I wonder what this Beer would taste like if I carbed it with nitrogen...

Guiness. There is a guy, now deceased who did. The idea was to mimic the high/low pour in Irish pubs to sell it everywhere but not go stale from it. There is a podcast, maybe beervanna where there is an interview with the guy. This was in the 50s when Guinness draught came out.

I think it was guineas actually. They wanted a smoother frothy head and nitrogen is WAY smaller than co2. From all I have read, getting n2 to stay in suspension is a bit of a trick. N2 does not dissolve into water very well

Thus the much higher pressure.

Well if you end up with that Guinness nitro pour that cool cascading thing going on in the glass that's winning in my book!
Good luck with your new toy.

Got ingredients for an American pale ale. Basically 11.5 pounds of two row along with a pound of 40 L caramel. Going to use Magnum, Northern Brewer and a spot of Mosaic along with US-05.

Also bought a Chardonnay kit for the boss. A friend loaned me their fermenter, so I won't have to tie up my primary fermenter for five or six weeks while the wine does its thing.

Oh I will take a video if it does, lol
