What are you drinking right now?

I look forward to a few 6’s of this beer every summer. Never disappoints.

Date night! Super rare. At my favorite local place to eat Patties and Pints. I’m having Heart State Brewing Cold IPA out of Columbus OH. Kim is having Fat Heads Bumble Berry Honey Blueberry Ale. Now off to watch Indiana Jones. @Donoroto we would have eaten here if it wasn’t morning when we met up.

That's a great picture!

This is local!
I have had some good Hefe's, and have had some I didn't like. This one is really good, to the point that I would like to replicate it. I am here all week, so I need to get to know these guys! Sorry for the terrible picture...

That looks beautiful.

Kristalwizen?
Not filtered.

WY3068 is considered a low-floc yeast and this recipe had over 50% malted wheat, so I wasn't expecting this to clear. But for some reason, it mostly has. Time and temp, I suppose. o_O

I'll consider the clarity a bonus but what really has me hooked are the wonderful banana notes and ease of drinkability. Quite flushed with this beer and I'll start making one every summer.

Nice and clear, hard to do with a Hefe. How's the taste?
Malty/bready with definite banana notes, but not a banana bomb. Clove is not present, which is a bit disappointing but not really missed in the end. Very clean in the finish. Great yeast.

I still struggle to get clove.

I still struggle to get clove.
I have yet to try making one, but speaking to some of the brewers around town, the 69 range seems to be a happy medium for both. Aren't you going to get more of the clove going cooler and the banana going warmer?

I went to bed just after 11 and it was still not completely dark, it it is bizarre how the sun goes behind the mountains fairly early, but it stays light out for hours.
I guess you're also near the Western edge of the time zone

Was like that when i lived in western WA too. In the winter it's would be stone dark by 4pm
