Light West Coast Wheat. ABV: 4.5%. 1 Gallon mini-keg. 7 months.

This was the second glass, it is a bit cloudy. I must have disturbed it on the first which was actually crystal clear in the glass but again very lively as my mini-kegs tend to be. I had a bottle of this batch couple of weeks back and it was average at best. Turns out much better in every department in the keg.

Fresh slightly floral nose. Lasting thin head (after the initial deep and tight first half pint) with steady moderate carbonation. Soft foamy mouthfeel the highlight. Slightest bitterness and tanginess also. Immediately refreshing without aftertaste. Yep this one worked out just fine and it really stank on the transfer. I like the alternative of a wheat beer and just put a Bavarian one in the fermenter. The ABV is a little deceptive. I thought I might have miscalculated somewhere along the line but it crept up on me and well and truly hit home.

Ha! I just finished a six pack of Salvator. Good stuff, but hard to drink three in a sitting.
Pretty strong stuff, but I love the roasty taste. Not quite like black coffee, more like a dark chocolate type of bitter. I think I may have to put this in my list of future brews.

First bottle of my latest batch of Smooth Stout, packaged just 6 days ago, set amidst my fed and ripe sourdough starter and the bowl awaiting it with the rest of the ingredients. So the carbonation isn’t yet to the level desired, this is a good beer that will improve with more time in the bottle. The last bottle of the previous batch is now in the fridge chilling.
