What are you drinking right now?

Back to The Friendly Garden, where she’s sipping on Bandon Rain Dry Cider, and I’m quaffing Crash and Smash IPA by Boneyard. This SMASH is Vienna with HBC 1019, and it’s a fine brew.

First of my Voss wheat 2, with ginger.
But I can't taste the ginger.
Also not enough fizz even though the calculator says 14 psi @ 41 F.
I'll be adding some more CO2 just now. Needs more for pouring anyway.
First time I can really taste orange.
Weather cooled down a bit during fermentation, lower than my usual aim for Voss.
Bit dark as well.
Not my best beer, but definitely drinkable

Maybe you can see the herd of elephants in the background. Bit too far for a cell phone camera

You ever get the elephants on your side of the river?

Got to do a few 10oz pours of a nice, session 0 IBU APA and a few really good European style lagers. Got too excited about the the beers to take pics before I started drinking them. With the session, I had visions of Sunfire's recent comment about having a nice hop flavor without being overly bitter. This one did it. Great Vienna. Great Dark Czech. Great Italian Lager.

Seldom
Too many people this side and they will chase the ele's back.
There are no people living on the Zim side of the river.

Back to my beer:
Real strange, think I'll be having to post a separate thread about it.
I decided to try my pet-bottled same brew and it is nice!
Well carbonated, not much of that orange tang although it comes from the same batch as the keg and spend its time nicely together with the keg (same temperatures etc)
Still murky, but it is a weevilly wheat and still couldn't taste the ginger, but quite good

I tried the first pull on my Blue Loon clone .
This is the one I used BRY97 when I dropped the Belgian yeast. Tastes terrible, may be a dumper. Kind of sweet like it really was not finished. But just not good .
I'll have to berw up a Bunyip batch to scare the evil sprits from my fermenter.

Hard to like that post!
Maybe give it some time.

I'm drinking my by now quite nice weevilly gingered wheat beer :)
Pic to follow.
Got a bit of confidence back so need to start brewing again :)

Hard to “like” that, but yes get some Bunyip in there to chase off the evil spirits.
Knock on wood, I’ve never had a dumper in nearly 4.5 years of brewing.

That sucks I agree give it some time.

I can only vaguely recall three in 40 years. But I very clearly remember one of those was a strangely sweet lager in the early days - it really was disgusting.

I've had more than I'd like to admit .
It's a part of hombrewing some just don't turn out right or get infected.

Infections are rare for me these days thank God!

Yeah, hard to like, but give it 2 weeks before dumping anything. Was the FG normal-ish?
