What are you drinking right now?

Vienna lager and a West Coast IPA flight at the homebrew shop's brewery. My favorite food truck is here too (wood fired pizzas)

Bunyip Pale Ale

Spending more time with this beer. This was bittered with Magnum, late hopped with Citra and Mosaic and dry hopped with Mosaic. I find the bitterness has probably overshot the calculated IBU’s and wandered into IPA territory. But maybe not. Because I don’t believe the calculators add up late additions properly. Nothing against the calculators, because it’s next to impossible anyway. Regardless, I’m simply perceiving more than the projected 45 IBU’s.
That aside, the hops aroma is wonderful, super citrusy and berry-ish. And the body of the beer - as advertised - stands up to the bitterness. I used all Pennsylvania craft malt and between the bready/malty backbone from the 2row and Munich and slight caramel from the crystal, this beer drinks very smooth and sneaky. Also, maybe from the wheat, this beer has a nice soft, creamy head and leaves a workmanlike lacing down the glass.
BRY-97 is the perfect yeast for this beer. Attenuates well but not too well, finishes clean, clearing enough.

When I rebrew this beer, I *might* lower the 60 minute bittering addition to see if the malt comes forward just a tick more. Then again I might not bother making any changes at all and I’ll just call it an IPA. :)

All that nonsense above is simply to say that I am absolutely loving this beer. Thanks Ben.

Lovely or just boil for 30 mins:p!

Glad you like it Megary that's the idea with this beer being able to knock a few back and really enjoy the hops and malt combination.

Looks outstanding man!

You know, I've never done a 30-minute boil. Heck, I've never even done a 59-minute boil. I'm a 60-minute Man! Maybe I need to start hanging with the cool kids. :D

If I do 30 minute boils, can I use the 60 minute hop addition twice?

30 min boils usually mean higher bittering charge....but if the bitterness was too much the same amount at 30 might be good.

Another thing about a 30min boil is "maybe" all the Aromatics arnt boiled off.
Now throw them in as a 30min FWH addition that's hedging your bets both ways:p.

Oh @Megary I've not been cool for along while :).

I have done 30 minute boils when brewing a hazy' that only gets whirlpool and dry hop additions.
