What did you use to get that daekness?

Darker malts. Very similar recipe to my standard hefeweitzen. But to be honest, a little more dark maltiness would be welcome.

Oh yeah! Back in 1990, I joined with several friends on a bachelor party trip to Munich. We drank plenty from Spaten.

On a side note this is an example of no old crash, dump it all in the fermenter, no gelatin, no filtering etc. just whirlfloc and a good flocculating yeast.

Poured out of the can like motor oil, thick and viscous, black as night. Big notes of sweet chocolate and finishes with an alcohol warmth. After all of the summer beers I’ve had this weekend, this is a nice sensory reset.
