Next up, an IPA brewed right here in Eugene. This is West Coast style, and 7.0% abv.

Dark beer is a key ingredient for my homemade fish tacos, so I opened up a HB Oatmeal Stout to cook lunch with :D very heavy, oaty mouthfeel, low carbonation, dark cocoa and roast bitter, then a boozy kick right on the end. I make a mole-inspired sauce using the beer for the cocoa addition, the maltiness adds some nice savory depth as well.

Dirty Bohemian, this batch was an experiment with Kazbek in place of one of the Saaz additions. Going back to Saaz. As much as I love what it brings to Shady Boh, Kazbek didn’t work as well in the Dirty(although certainly not bad).

Best bitter. First pours of it was last night during the zoom but didn’t take a pic. This turned out well. Probably the way I’ll make them going forward except maybe switch one crystal malt for another. The victory malt made a big difference. More bready less sweet

Herm’s Amber Ale, refreshment as I do laundry, make broth for tonight’s soup, and work on dough for tomorrow’s sourdough bake.

Last night, I opened a bottle of Janet’s Brown Ale that has been refrigerated since last weekend. It was just OK; still very cloudy, not as smooth as previous batch, maybe a little green from the dry hops addition. This batch I used Voss, but not sure what I got from it.
