Hey Meg, nice to see your post... I didn't know that there is a 'Day' for the Pisco Sour.
It is a tradition here in Chile as well as in Peru. The drinks are similar between the two countries, your recipe is closer to what we drink in Chile... the version from Peru is made with Key Limes instead of Lemons as well as they use a dash of 'Bitter' dropped into the foam. Both versions are delicious and always available at family and friends get togethers.
Both countries have a 'gentlemens' feud over where the Pisco Sour originated.... I've enjoyed both and actually like the Peruvian version better, although both are very tasty.
That’s awesome. Thanks for the information. Nothing like an honorable disagreement over things that truly matter!

The Pisco Sour is one of my favorite drinks. I’ve only ever had it with lemon, but I will definitely give the key lime version a try. If I ever find myself in that neck of the woods I will need to be properly educated in this noble discussion.

Was that the 007 In honor of Sean Connery you mentioned a while back? Or am I mixed up ?
Yes, it uses Idaho 7 hops that were once called 007 experimental hops. Not the best tasting hop in my book so I pair up with Amarillo. Call it Agent 007 IPA. But in honor of the Bond series, not just Sean, who was fantastic btw. I especially like the older shows, pre 1990 (less PC).

And it is very sweet. Had to put half water.
They did not have standard schweppes tonic. The only other was green cucumber tonic....

Yikes, that's rough. I love fresh cucumber in a G&T, but I don't know about green, flavored cucumber Tonic

Zambezi, I've always wanted to know: is that fence keeping something in or something(s) out?

It's supposed to keep goats out.
But that's not working as nost strands are missing.
It actually has to go, but it is not high on my priority list and since barbed wire is a pain to deal with, I'm just leaving it for now ;)

I used to be a big V&T and G&T drinker until one day I decided to give up the tonic and switch to Club Soda. (You know, give up the sugar, not the booze). It took a bit getting used to, but now I would never go back to tonic as I find it far too sweet. Love a nice Gin Rickey (no simple syrup).
