What are you drinking right now?

I love that MoreBeer makes their recipes available but, like almost all sites that do, they never post the AA% of the hops. As a rule, I use the amounts listed for all additions and then adjust the bittering addition to get the IBUs in line with the recipe. Also, you guessed right about your utilization at altitude. BeerSmith allows you to enter your altitude in the equipment profile and factors it into the recipe calculations. IIRC, it's about 2%/1,000'.
So does BF - it knows that my 6,000' altitude makes my water boil at about 200° F.

@BOB357 I use Brewfather and it adjusts as well. I think for the most part it does a decent job, but I feel (like) more. Brewfather connects to my Grainfather and automatically inputs all the brew steps, mash, boil for my elevation, hop schedule etc. Pretty convenient actually.

Fuller's.

Herm’s West Coast IPA. I like the color, clarity and mouthfeel. The flavor is pretty good too. There isn’t much in the way of hops aroma, and the bitterness seems subdued. The next iteration might need a kicked up bittering addition. My recipe calls for an addition of dry hops, which I have skipped both times that I’ve brewed this beer. Maybe I should stick to my recipe? Well, it’s homebrew, and it’s mine.

Pulled a sample of kolsch and I'm super pleased with it. This will be my first competition beer. It finished at the predicted FG which never happens in my brewhouse :) I used 100% Triumph hops, and so far they taste great.

I also bought some local beer: Death & Taxes and Bombay by Boat IPA. Death and Taxes used to be labeled as a Czech dark lager, but has been rebranded as a black beer. I love this beer, but I think I prefer the Shady Boh :) this one has too much lingering roast/burnt for me. And Bombay by Boat is a classic west coast IPA that's an actual west coast IPA. Racer 5 and Lagunitas IPA are great, but I'll take Bombay over them any day. Cheers y'all!

Oh you naughty girl!
Death and Taxes!
What a great name for a beer!
I think I will have to come up with a Russian Imperial Stout at about 9% and call it that!

Sounds to me like your doing some great quality Assurance hombrew testing there Herm I bet it's a beauty.
I agree I get more aroma from DH than WP.
Flavour on the other hand I'm still hung up on that one:rolleyes:. Back to the kettle I spose
