A wild thing
That sucks big binocci'sOh, my oven. My bread baked fine on Saturday night. Sunday night I wanted to roast some asparagus, so I turn on the oven. In the meantime, I go outside to check meat on the grill, sip beer, wander around, check my navel. Back in the kitchen, I check the oven - nothing. The stove top works, the broiler works, but not the oven. Time to replace the oven igniter- oven will be of commission for about a week. I ordered the part (it’s not available for pick up anywhere), and now I wait.
At least you know how to do it yourself (or at the very least are confident enough to try). I know some who would wait 2 weeks, one for the service guy and a second for the part.Time to replace the oven igniter- oven will be out of commission for about a week. Me too, but that is rare. Most folks are afraid to try, afraid to fail.I will usually try to fix something myself in an attempt to save money and learn how things work.
Well said! Somebody built this thing so somebody can fix it.Me too, but that is rare. Most folks are afraid to try, afraid to fail.
I mentor a high school robotics team, and very rare is the kid with enough confidence to know no matter how badly they muck it up, they will figure out how to get past it.
I work very hard to let them fail, as the recovery builds real confidence. I hope they become confident, self-reliant adults.
Sure, some tasks take research and careful thought, but no matter how bad it gets, if ANYone can figure it out, then you or I (and some others) can. I mean, someone built it, how hard could it be?
