Whiskey, Bourbon, and Other Fine Spirits!

So I'm thinking about getting another bottle of Scotch.

I like Chivas Regal, Glenlivet, and Macallen just to name a few. Not into the heavy peat stuff yet, just doesn't work for me.

Got my eye on some Monkey Shoulder Scotch based on a few online reviews and recommendations...anyone had it? What are your thoughts on that particular scotch?

That is a little off the beaten path for sure. Tasting notes that I found sound interesting. It is a blend of three malts, all from the Speyside region. I had never heard of this before you brought it up.

According to reviews, that is one awesome whisky! That's probably going to end up on my list.
A very easy drinking whiskey for sure, a beauty Highland single malt when you are in the mood for something smooth.

I've never had Monkey Shoulder so can't say. Looks like the reviews are good though.
Chivas Regal 18 yr is super delicious if you haven't had that, and Dewars double double 21 yr is really tasty also if you can find it. Their 15 yr ain't to shabby either. Imo Highland Park makes great everyday drinking scotch also.
This Aberlour is on my short list. https://www.bourbonbanter.com/drink...reviews/aberlour-abunadh-review/#.X4MSuujYq3A

In my scotch cart right now however is Ardbeg Uigeadail, but I'm a heavy peat fan.

Ooooh, that Ardbeg is a beauty, not the least bit economical either. The 10 rear old is $100CDN, converts to roughly $76USD.

I can usually find the Ardbeg 10 year for around $50.
The ARDBEG Uigeadail above I got a great deal on for $75. Around here it's $100-$110. I can't wait to get home this afternoon and sample it's bogginess. I find the Islay scotchs very intriguing.

Speaking of 12 year olds!
Progressive pictures of the accompanying beverage. First a 6.2% Raspberry IPA, topped up with an 8% Stout, just a lovely blend. While the dram from the foggy moss waits ever patiently

There are several Islay's (pronounced eye law) that are easy to obtain, and are to be revered. The Speysides you have to look a little harder for. Much bolder than a Highland, but not heavily peated like an Islay.

@Craigerrr , it's not triple, but it's double. they have these little half pint bottles at the store the other day and decided to pick one up based on your recommendation of the triple cask.
