What's your next brew

Normally I would be planning to brew something big and dark about now, but last brew was a 9% Pirate Strong Ale that should keep me covered in that category for a while. Waiting for the rum-soaked oak to mellow a bit. Think next will be a Saison. Haven't brewed anything Belgian in a while. Something kinda spicy peppery with 3724 and Saaz.

Well we think similarly when it comes to blondes there megary (grist wise) this is in the fermentor bubbling away https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/1196938/talus-all
Pale ale - vienna - wheat if going pale I throw some dark crystal in. That biscuit was a last minute decision just seeing what it will bring...
Anyhow I look forward to seeing it in the glass.
Nice! Great minds think alike, and so do we!! :D

When she's ready, I would like to hear your thoughts on the Talus hops. I've never used them before.

Deal ;)
Only using a 100g on this batch 35 WP 75 DH but Gash Slug did a Talus Vid a while back that piqued my interest he LOVES his hops.

Well I guess I wrote “Classic American Pilsner” on the whiteboard last month and still haven’t brewed it…suppose the Shore Leave will have to wait a bit.

I'm going to do a brown ale next I think. Extract with steeping grains to keep it simple. Repeating a recipe I created earlier this year, but due to a scale malfunction added too much midnight wheat and it turned into a porter. It'll be the first brew fermented in my new fridge and I'm aiming for the full 3 gallons that my fermonster can hold.

Talking about brewing Stone's Woot Stout clone in another post put the idea in my head that I need to brew that next. It's been a couple years since I last brewed it. I currently have a 80 shilling Scottish ale fermenting. I'll just use the yeast cake from that. The 80 shilling is fermenting with Wyeast 1728 Scottish Ale and the Woot Stout calls for an American ale yeast (Wyeast 1056, Safale US-05, White Labs WLP-001). Since they are all fairly clean an neutral I think it should work out well.

Why not go for Shady Boh? :p
Honestly that didn't even cross my mind lol! maybe this is a subconscious brew and deep down in the grey matter I was missing the Shady bohemian ha ha:D!

This is a tweek on Jamils Schwartz he used Caraffa 2 (which I love) but I got midnight wheat in inventory.
My thinking is a straightforward pilsner with black coloring will see what the capped dark malts do in the beer.

Sounds tasty. One of my favorite seasonal beers in California was a black Pilsner, it was so good!

I am hoping so. Supposed to be isolated from a multi pitch of 1318 but like you said before that doesn’t always mean it’s real close. @Trialben yours didn’t clear? Advertised that it is a good flocculating yeast. As long as i like the taste I’m happy.
Verdant should be good in that beer.

Yeah I brewed highvoltagemans Wayners pale ale with it honestly though it did have a LOT of hops in it so would of contributed to the haze.

Flavour is lovely though I remember a fruity peach flavor to it.

Man I cant wait to see how the beer turns out for you Josh dont let me deter you just my observation.

Think I’m going to concentrate on 5-6 recipes and get them dialed in exactly where I want them. When I am 100% happy with them, I’ll try some new ones again.(Still doing the quarterly brews though).

So:
1. Shady Bohemian
2. Shore Leave
3. Shady Bohemian Pale
4. Drea’s Red
5. Cluster… ACP

6. Some type of IPA with Simcoe and Minstral.

I’ll do a rotation.
