What are you drinking right now?

Homebrewed Scottish 70 shilling oaked with medium toast spiral. Smooth, with a hint of vanilla.

It is a little more potent, but it makes me want to brew a Dubbel again. What a wonderful beer!

My "Mild Mannered" I've never tried a commercial dark mild so I don't know what I should be tasting.

You know, mild is not so easy to describe for me. First off, it tastes brown, a malty kinda sweetish, maybe caramel or toffee. Not bitter. Not a heavy body like a stout, more liquidy. A bit unique. Complicating it, milds are not usually found in the store. Even total wine rarely has even one.

I like your description. I’ve always considered a (Dark) Mild to be a “session” Brown Ale: lower ABV and a little lighter in color (maybe), but many of the same flavors. A beer to enjoy all night with Andy Capp.

Yummm!! That is one style that I do like a lot, especially if they go back and do the Vienna Lager roots which that looks like.
I failed to identify the brewery on that beer - Ex Novo out of New Mexico. Like this enough that my wife and I enjoyed a round today, and I looked up their ingredients in interest of crafting my own recipe.
