This is amazing. Imagine all the good things you like about chimay grand reserve, but smoother, more intense and less of the harsh bite you associate with Belgians. Really good, wish i could afford more, lol

Harsh bite in Belgian beers?
Never noticed any. Too me they are real smooth and generally a little sweet.

Not to bad thin mouthfeel seems like the common denominator with these so far.
Like with bread, the gluten proteins add something to beer.

Makes me wonder how one could increase mouthfeel with no impact on flavor. With soup I make a roux with GF flour, not sure it would be OK for beer...

I thought of the same thing. Do flaked oats have gluten? If not, that would be a no brainer, especially for a Pale Ale.

In Aus oats still arnt considered GF by Coeliac Australia even uncontaminated oats.
There is a prolamine in oats which is a cousin to gluten found in wheat and such that they have found some Coeliacs are intolerant to I think it's quite low.

I've actually been eating wheat free oats recently and asked my Coeliac Dr if he eats them and he being a Dr said he follows the guidelines of Coeliac Australia.

In the US of A it's OK for Coeliacs to have wheat free oats is my understanding because of the lesser stringent guidelines.
