What are you doing with homebrew today?

She was going crazy this morning. When those Pure Pitch packets are fresh, they take off quickly! I have a 1/2 of Mosaic left, and I might dump it in after work. I think it was Craig talking about going a little earlier with the hops on the meeting. I did add around 12 minutes, and I added the others right at flameout, so I bet I get some IBUs there.
The garage was starting to smell good this morning. I'm waiting to see what happens when I pop the fridge open later.

I was going to brew a 2nd batch of saison, but glad I didn't.
I ran out of gas.
2 empty bottles now, just 1 still going.
Gotta pick up new ones this week

He was actually saying to go later, so as to keep more if the aroma.

malt is crushed water collected I guess I'm committed now for the am

He did say to go later on the dry hops, but I thought I remember him talking about moving back an addition to about 20 minutes for some IBUs.
I was trying to dial it back from being too nutty just to see what happens, but I have 6oz of hops in it now: 2.5 Mosaic at 12minutes, 1 Cascade at 12 minutes, 2 Cascade at Flameout, 1/2 Mosaic dry hop at about 30 hours in.
Lots of people won't like my idea, but it is more of a compromise to learn something.

For NEIPA, I don't add any hops in the boil. I chill to 80C, add hops and recirculate (whirlpool) at 80C for about 20 minutes. You can WP at any temperature you want, higher temp = more IBU's, and less aroma/flavor. Lower the temp = more flavor and aroma, and lower IBU's.
Hope I didn't mess up your batch if I mislead you on that.

Nope. I listened to everyone, and I actually wanted something late in the boil. I know what I did wrong last time, I took some mental notes because everyone does something different, and I will see what happens with this one. I have been adding some notes to the recipe as I go and as it starts fermenting. I think that is how we all develop our style: We listen a bunch, we know what we like and don't, and we try to figure out a way to get what we want through whatever system we work out.

Exactly. At least, that’s my approach.

On Sunday I bottled a Hoegaarden copycat and brewed an American IPA with lots of cascade & citra. Not sure what to do next. I would like to make more Saisons and other wheat beers, but the partner is not the biggest fan (I'll probably be drinking the Hoegaarden copy all myself lol). Maybe something using Philly Sour next... Philly Sour "Gose" could be fun.

Checked on Saturday's BIPA, chugging along nicely at 19C,and 10 PSI

Tended the hop garden. 18 Cascade ... crowns. I’ve got a few over 6’ already.

One of my pulleys came loose and the line closest to the fence fell. I had to repair that.
