Checking my FG on my ESB and IPA, and dry hopping the IPA for a couple days.
If there's no pressure in the keg, why can't you take off the post and replace the poppet? Sanitize and lube all the parts and put it back together? You could cover the open post hole with sanitized foil if you're worried about it being exposedThink I may have a pop it leak. Of course nothing I can do with wort in The keg. Spunding valve isn’t showing any pressure build up but fermentation started late last night
You should be fine, it all comes out the top.Can anything fall into the beer?
I had the same issue, when I pulled my QD off the post the oring for the poppet straight up came through the post. Think I might need to cut the poppet spring back some hahaThink I may have a pop it leak. Of course nothing I can do with wort in The keg. Use a screwdriver to push in the poppet a little, it often reseals when released. Easy to try anyway. New poppet gets a smear of keg lube on the o-ring.Think I may have a pop it leak. Yup I have a gas post on one of my kegs that does this just depress the poppet again and usually it seals again.Use a screwdriver to push in the poppet a little, it often reseals when released. Easy to try anyway. New poppet gets a smear of keg lube on the o-ring.
Indeed, a smear on the old poppet might do the trick.
That's frickin genius Ben. Makes perfect sense but I'd never thought of it.Yup I have a gas post on one of my kegs that does this just depress the poppet again and usually it seals again.
Now if this don't work use a disconnect but just run some line but cap the line this will bypass the leaky poppet and use the post seal.
Cheers Don - i guess that's what you get running old beatup kegs that a older than me!That's frickin genius Ben. Makes perfect sense but I'd never thought of it.
I don't subscribe to that one, hope it's a good read!@Sunfire96 new craft beer and brewing magazine is focused on stouts. There is an article on oyster stout
