Took a break from the chamber today but still did something HB related. Saw the photos of the bottle crates and decided to make my stackable version. Made with pallet slats and the dividers are tempered MDF. All I gotta do now is repeat the process 9 more times. Got more bottles than that, but probably gonna start culling some. 240 plus 10% (264) is my target. Gonna have to adjust the shelves a little because these are slightly taller than the cardboard boxes

I like the design with the slots as inserts, because it's flexible. If down the road you want to use it for bombs or shorties for some reason, you just need to space out the slots again but don't have to build a whole new crate!

ls...I can get a case of 12 ounces, more if I tight pack them loose, 30 bombers and I have 12 inch tall design that does wine bottles.

Duh.. Make that 20 Bombers folks...

And @Pricelessbrewing ...if you go with a design that can hold a 24 12's cardboard case with an inch extra on the sides, all you have to change is the height for the different bottles, 12's, pints, bombers or liter wines

Cool stackable design, how's the bottom slats connected?
1.25” Staples (with pneumatic stapler). I bought a cheap little stapler from HarborFreight that will shoot both staples and finishing nails for doing trim work. They don’t let go of the oak at all.

Three down. Didn’t think about the bombers These probably won’t be tall enough. Only have about a half inch of overhead space when stacked. I was too focused on quantity for the 12s. I found I drink too much with bombers using the excuse that it’s only a bottle. But I do occasionally put some good stuff in the bombers.

Didn't like the weight of these, so working on version 2.0. Gonna use multiple smaller slats with more air-gaps between them and see what happens. If nothing else, I want to change how I made up the corners, which will also make all the long pieces the same length. Gonna try one and see if it's as solid as the 3 in the photo.

Got babysitting duty at the moment though, so further development/construction is on hold.

Consider two (or more) heights for different bottles. But they all interlock.

Yeah, thought about that too, but gonna need to set my shelving up to accommodate them. They're already taller than the cardboard cartons, especially stacked. I'm gonna have to rearrange all the shelving downstairs to reorganize for the new crates. I can probably get 4 to the shelf with a 24" spacing. They're 300 pound rated shelves, so I don't worry about 4 cases of beer breaking them.

So I finished up the new milling station today. May go a different route on the hopper, but it’s a nice start.
Crankandetein 3GT fully geared 3 roller mill with 1/3hp GE motor and Hub City Gear 10:1 reduction gearbox. Should be about 172 rpm. Chewed up a pound of Viking Dextrine in 10.9 seconds with the gap set at.035” detentions were spot on according to the feeler gauge.

Looks powerful enough to grind up a tractor there...

Just needs loud pipes
