Get any fishing in?
Not yesterday. I only took the chair and one beer for the sunrise. It has been calm, and the water has been perfect for floating around. Did brunch in the port later with some tasty Shrimp & Grits.

I'll get a picture of what they use in place of these now this weekend and post it
These are Tobacco Sheds, where they would hang the tobacco to dry.
Norfolk County is a huge agricultural area, nothing but fields of crops on my drive to and from our trailer.
Tobacco, asparagus, cabbage, tart cherries, ginseng, peppers, pumpkins, rye, squash, zucchini, strawberries, and other vegetables.
Good friend of mine grew up in this area, hung a lot of tobacco when he was young!

I loved my travels in the American west. It is so much like my home in Switzerland, but the sheer scale of what the USA has in terms of nature is astonishing to me...it is just so vast. And of course, beautiful, and also stunning to me in how empty it is in terms of people. I could see myself moving there one day. Anyway, a great pic that makes that stream see so inviting that I can imagine wading into it.

Maryland used to be a huge tobacco growing state and it's still grown here but those barns look nothing like the ones around here. The little town I am outside of used to have 3 cigar rolling "factories" that were more like home businesses from what I've read. There are some Amish folks who've moved into the area and they are using big plastic hoop houses to dry it so it's still employing folks..family business!

I remember the little houses for tobacco in North Carolina when I was a whole lot younger. The one down the road was a whole lot smaller than those two houses.

This is what they use now in this area, probably hove some method of humidity control.
You see these down here everywhere.
I say down as this area is about an hour south from where I live.

Yes, "Down" is one of the four cardinal directions, along with Up and Left and Right. :D

Don't forget the 5th, the multi directional direction as well... out, as in out west, or out east
