Happy New Year from the trail in sunny Southern California, where my wife and I got to start the year with a good hike. Those snow covered mountains lie about 30 miles north of our home, rising to almost 11000 feet in elevation. It has been a few dry years since we last enjoyed seeing them like this.

I kind of thought the same thing, except I thought it looked like a TV show set.

We had a few inches of snow here yesterday too, turned bitter cold last night too.

The low tonight is 16F. Anticipating an ice rink tomorrow. Virginia drivers are shit on a normal day but add in snow and there were over 550 crashes today on the roads. We saw a RWD coupe get bounced around like a ping pong ball on the drive home. I think the whole state should shut down tomorrow

It was a blast to watch. On the last big play my 82 year old grandpa jumped out of his seat and went towards the tv fired up haha. He didn’t sit until after the field goal
