I brewed today!

Brewed another Helles Same recipe as last time minus decoction. Although I did add an ounce of melanoidan. This batch will be split into two kegs. One will lager the other will be consumed quicker Kellerbier style.

Cream Ale. Very relaxing day, volumes were spot on up and down the boil, gravity finished a point high. In other words, right on the money. :D

Boil on the brink.

Goal was 1.051, looks like 1.052 to me.

Easy laid back day....started around noon and just had a quick dinner of last night's BBQ and my Belgium Mild...back to clean up as I have about another 1/2 hour of daylight!

Brewed an ESB today. This time the S stands for Substitution. My LHBS did not have Imperial A09 Pub. So, after consulting my British Beer Specialist (Josh) I subbed in Omega OYL-16 Extra Special (formerly known as English Ale VIII). They were also out of 2 of the 3 hops I needed. Fortunately they did have Kent Goldings. I'm sure it will turn out really good but, I've been trying to dial in my ESB. I'll just need to plan ahead next time I brew this recipe.

Kent Goldings or Fuggles is good in an English brown.
