Kent Goldings or Fuggles is good in an English brown.Brewed an ESB today. This time the S stands for Substitution. My LHBS did not have Imperial A09 Pub. So, after consulting my British Beer Specialist (Josh) I subbed in Omega OYL-16 Extra Special (formerly known as English Ale VIII). They were also out of 2 of the 3 hops I needed. Fortunately they did have Kent Goldings. I'm sure it will turn out really good but, I've been trying to dial in my ESB. I'll just need to plan ahead next time I brew this recipe.

First batch in the All Rounder.
If they had been out of both Fuggles and Kent Goldings, I would have switched to a different recipe on the spot.Kent Goldings or Fuggles is good in an English brown.
I admire your work ethicOn second brew today. First up was a wheat ale. Dropped it on the yeast cake from my ipa. Already bubbling. Second a pale ale.

When my homebrew is down to drips, I try to catch up as quick as possible. Plus I had nothing else to do once I mowed the lawn.I admire your work ethic
