Thanks Ben, and Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.
Most of the work has been done by others.
I wasn't able to find anyone who could do the whole job so I ended up hiring a carpenter, plumber, and electrician.
We were fortunate to get some good people.

Pardon the piles of boxes and such, but the reno in the basement is 99% done now. My guy is coming back to rehang some drywall, and put down flooring in the storage/utility room next week (overestimated amount of flooring needed, so why not use it up). He is also just finishing the piece of elm we got for the fireplace mantel. Here is the finished product. I am so happy with how it came out, my guy did a fantastic job, the ceiling turned out phenomenal!

Love the ceiling!
I spent a lot of time looking for an alternative to T Bar as I did not want to drywall the ceiling, and happened across this faux cofferred ceiling idea. The materials are cheap, 2x4's, 1x4 MDF, and the tiles are just pieces of drywall cut to size. A ton of labor though to install it. My guy did a phenomenal job with it!
Had a couch delivered yesterday:), time to start determining what goes where on the walls...
