Home made pizza

I made a pizza tonight, using sourdough crust fermenting since Thursday morning. It turned out OK, but not special. Topped with red sauce (Trader Joe’s), four cheese blend, prosciutto, onions, mushrooms and garlic. The crust was thin, crisp, and held up nicely, with good sourdough flavor. My wife likes my yeast risen crust better.

One of our two cats seemed to enjoy the dough. While the dough was resting on the kitchen counter, my wife and I were in the backyard, tending the plants. We came inside to find a few small chunks chewed from the dough, courtesy of Peet the cat. He once gobbled down about a quarter cup of dry orzo pasta before I could get it into some soup. He later barfed out that orzo pasta - dumb cat.

Yeah he should of waited until it was cooked lol:cool:.

I thought I'd show you my new setup and how the pies are coming out.
This was a 20% whole wheat crust that didn't rise as much as the regular crust.

Looks plenty edible to me.

Just went to the king Arthur site, found that recipe and sent it to wife and daughter. I suggested that we should have that for dinner next Friday!

There's some great recipes there that are very user friendly.

Looks tasty. Will have to get the recipe and try it. Tonight the wife made mac & cheese with pepper jack, smoked gouda and Havarti, then spiced it up a bit with cayenne and topped with some Panko. Man, that stuff was good.

That gives me an idea for a box of macaroni that my wife bought in the early days of this situation. Not that my waistline needs more expansion. Back in my youth, there was a neighbor family 2 doors down who would come over, ask for an egg, or salt or something. They would return a few hours later with a full casserole dish of the BEST mac and cheese ever made! Too bad I never got the recipe.

Sounds like a fair exchange maybe give them some barley never know might bring back beer :)

Okay, so, I am blessed!
Production is under way for tonight's feast. The sun dried tomatoes have been reconstituted, and the bacon has yet to be cooked. I requested Calzone with pesto, sun dried tomato, feta, and bacon. Request has been granted, will post up the end product later.
