Notes
mashed with 18l and around 68. cooled down quickly to around 65. No salt additions. Notably liquid mash.
pH of 6.22 and temp of 64/65 after 15 mins
1 hour mash
then sparge with around 10 litres (77 degrees, no salt additions). Got around 24 l in the pot. And then after the 1 hour boil it was down to just over 20l
exact same process as Bill Bragg IPA for the mash. i.e. with the new mash tun. all worked really well. good recirculation and collection. didn't measure efficiency though.
camden tablets and then protocloc at 15 mins.
old 2015 cascade for the boil hops. then fresh 2016 cascade / simcoe for the flameout / whielpool. And 100g 2016 galaxy for the dry hop plus 25g of 2016 simcoe.
tried to do a whirlpool by stirring the flameout hops. we held it for around 10 mins after flameout. then cooled to 90 and left to cool naturally to 80. then cooled quickly to 70. left for 10 mins and then cooled rapdily to .... 25 ish
1.070 OG. around 17l/18l made it into fermenter
